Befriending Our Biology – 4 Week Series on Nervous System Navigation
May 7 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT
An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until May 7, 2022
Do you struggle with your inner critic?
Do you struggle with your judgement of others?
Do you wish to be proactive in your approach to life rather than reactive?
In this 4 week personalized exploration we will learn how to apply the principles of polyvagal theory in our lives. Each participant will map their unique nervous system and become familiar with how each state feels in their body: ventral vagal (safe and social), sympathetic (fight/flight), & dorsal vagal (shutdown/collapse). We will cultivate individualized tools and resources to navigate each state, including both self-regulation and co-regulation techniques. We will learn how to savor “glimmers” and recognize triggers. Through creativity, practice and co-regulation with the other participants we are aiming for increased awareness, compassion, and autonomic flexibility.
This class is building on the lecture “Befriending Our Biology: A Polyvagal Primer.” Registrants will receive a recording of the class to review as a prerequisite at their leisure.
Class is limited to 10 participants – sliding scale 133$-199$
payment plan available – no-one will be turned away for lack of funds
