Volunteer Opportunities

For Goodness Sake is a Non-denominational Spiritual Resource Center. We are a community, made up of the community, working together to thrive through our membership base and the generous support of donors. For many years we were blessed to have the support of a primary benefactor but times change and we must evolve. We are moving towards a model which encompasses embracing our partnership with our parent non-profit, with the added support of community participation and partnerships.

In our efforts to keep this facility (a wonderful asset to the community) open and thriving, we are constantly striving to expand our offerings. In addition to the cost of maintaining our facility, we employ advertising, outreach to our community, and host many special events… we count on volunteers.

Some examples of volunteer opportunities are general building maintenance, cleaning, straightening the library, facilitating groups, community outreach, helping to staff events, snow removal in the winter, and landscaping clean up in the spring and summer.

And of course, we must mention there are many ongoing classes that are strictly hosted by volunteers!

With dues attached in many ways to FGS participation, we NEVER want anyone to feel like they can’t attend because of finances. Maybe there is a small job you could volunteer to do if you have extra time. If time and finances are an issue, please come anyway. You know when you get something great out of a class you will energetically give it back to your community in one way or another.

For Goodness Sake Update

For Goodness Sake’s Library & Bookstore are open Tuesday through Saturday 12-5pm.

We’re so happy to be offering our classes and events on-site again at For Goodness Sake! We invite you to stop by and browse for books, cards, and pottery from local artists. Our space is fully sanitized and masks are required. We are sanitizing returned library books in our new infra-red oven.

Our library/bookstore have been re-organized and new items are being added regularly. Come in and check out a book, DVD, music CD, or audio book. Our selections include topics such as personal growth, spirituality, world religions, health and wellness, parenting, relationships – and much more.

So many wonderful resources are available for you to support your on-going personal and spiritual growth!

Library cards are available to all local residents – or those spending a few weeks in the area. Items can be checked out for 2 weeks and may be renewed via phone (530-550-8981) or email. We appreciate contributions to support our library – see the bottom of our homepage for info on how to contribute to FGS.

Items for sale include books, tarot & oracle cards, music CDs, DVDs, pottery, and many beautiful greeting cards by local artists.

Our classes are available in person, and many by Zoom as well. Check out our calendar and be sure you are signed up for our newsletter so you get each weekly update of offerings and events.

Thank you for your support of For Goodness Sake, Truckee’s nonprofit, non-denominational spiritual resource center!
