For Goodness Sake has evolved to a fantastic Non-denominational Spiritual Resource Center which has become a community working together in order to thrive through our own membership dues and donations. We have moved from having a benefactor to being a partner with our parent non-profit and it feels really good to have what the goal has been to “have some skin in the game.”
In our attempt to keep the lights on, advertising in place and outreach to our community, we count on volunteers! With the addition of a real store…the sales end is a bit more complex than it was when it was a library and bookstore. So it gets a little confusing having too many hands on that one computer. BUT, there are lots of other possibilities for volunteers.
We have an awesome newsletter volunteer…have you noticed? We need the facility cleaned regularly, the dishes thoroughly cleaned regularly (like going home to someone’s dishwasher). Snow removal in the winter and landscaping clean up in the spring and summer.
And of course, we must mention there are many classes that are strictly hosted by volunteers!
With membership dues attached in many ways to FGS participation, we NEVER want anyone to feel like they can’t attend because of finances. Maybe there is a small job you could volunteer for if you have extra time. If time and finances are an issue, please come anyway. You know when you get something great out of a class you will energetically give it back to your community in one way or another.
